On behalf of the PTA I would like to thank everyone who has helped Acton Park Primary School again this year although our fundraising efforts have been seriously curtailed by the pandemic which although seems to be slowly abating we still need to be careful to ensure everyone’s continued safety. The committee had a number of events organised with the high light our annual Summer Fair but these all had to be put on hold until we can meet again properly.

Despite only having just over a term of fundraising we did manage with some of last year’s funds to get Year 3 and Year 6 a set of 10 IPads which was a great addition to the schools IT resource. This has completely exhausted our funds but we feel that the money needs spending, it doesn’t benefit our children if it’s in our account. But having said that we will have to start in earnest again once we are allowed to once the new term begins.

Our first meeting in September will be our AGM but as yet we are unable to suggest a date until we know what restrictions might be in place but since the Welsh Government are aiming to get all the children back to school, hopefully this will also apply to parents meetings as well.

I would like to say a  big thank you to the PTA committee.  They work tirelessly to think of new ways to raise money to benefit your children.  It is through their hard work and dedication that social events have been so successful and new resources have been purchased. 

I would also like to thank all the staff at the school for the amazing work and support they have given over the last few months and also to all the parents and carers who have worked so hard to educate their children, I’m sure now realise just how hard our teachers and support staff work to keep  your children busy all day.

Once again thank you for your support and we look forward to meeting up again next term.
