Acton Park Primary School is situated two miles of the town of Wrexham, in a largely residential locality, catering for children aged from 3-11 years. The school site dates from the 14th century and has had many previous incarnations – from the Acton Park Estate to the Oppenheimer Diamond Factory! Acton Park Primary School was formed in 2009 when both the Infant and Junior Schools amalgamated.
Our school has extensive grounds including a playground and a large field. A thriving private nursery, ‘Friends of Acton’, is also housed in the school grounds and caters for pre-school children (in Nursery Plus) throughout the week, as well as providing breakfast and after school care.
We provide the best start in life for every one of our children, provide support to their parents and carers whilst maintaining a presence in the local community. We are a friendly, caring and nurturing school with a 'family feel', where staff and children work together in an atmosphere of respect and trust, and where the individuality of every child is valued. We believe that all children should be encouraged to fulfil their full potential intellectually, academically, creatively and emotionally and strive to ensure that our children develop high levels of self -esteem and pride in their achievements, a love of learning and a sense of enquiry. Furthermore, we believe that excellence is to be encouraged; from learning and playing together to setting high standards in our behaviour and conduct. This encapsulates our ethos.
We recognise that we can only achieve the best for all of our children by involving parents, carers and the wider community in every aspect of school life. The governors, staff and myself are committed to working in partnership and will provide frequent opportunities to share the progress our children are making and how we are working with them.
We endeavour to ensure that every one of our children feels safe, happy and cared for in our school; that they become confident, articulate, caring members of our community and global citizens of the future.
